As always, each new version of Chrome comes with new flags and features. The latest canary version (15.0.874.8) comes with a new feature that many of you will love to try and have been asking since Chrome was born… a redesign of the Download Shelf.
As you know, the download shelf is that bar that appears at the bottom of the screen each time a file is downloaded. ![]()
Well, apparently, the bar will no longer appear when downloading a file, instead, you’ll see the notification on the task bar (on Win7).
Don’t know if this feature is bugged or it’s the way it’s supposed to work, but although it removes the download shelf (which I hate), I find it weird that notifications of a download no longer appear. I hope that it gets fixed.
