Etiquetas: A few moments ago I was commenting on them System Explorer, a very interesting process manager for Windows. In that process manager, I found a very curious dwm.exe named, and that particularly occupied between the top of my RAM consumption. Well, that is why I feel motivated to uncover the secrets on it.
The process is part dwm.exe versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, and is the process that aims to manage the visual effects of windows, and certain behaviors of the operating system itself. Thanks to him, we can enjoy the graphical effects they have, so it is clear that consumes many system resources, especially a lot of RAM.
dwm.exe has nothing to do with viruses or risky issues, so do not worry. But what I do have to worry about is that this process consumes many resources, and that’s because as I told you, has much to do with the visual aspect of the system. Many users leave aside these visual effects, and disable DWM, to thus enhance the performance of Windows. It is the Desktop Window Manager (Windows Desktop Manager) that allows us to have different effects on them: transparencies, thumbnails, among others.
Have more windows open, since the greater the size of dwm.exe. If you want the user is simply disable it you can do with the steps that follow:
- Click on the Start menu
- Write "Services" and open it
- Find the service ‘Session Manager of Desktop Window Manager’ and stop the service, remember friends, that this will disable the visual effects
In conclusion, then, dwm.exe is a process that should be disabled only on computers that are many performance issues, low income. Particularly in my PC not remove I have no performance problems, but for those who note slowly, and using Windows Vista or 7 recommend you try turning off this process or service.
